Supreme Shopfronts is proud to announce that it has successfully gained Safe Contractor accreditation from Alcumus.

Alcumus SafeContractor is one of the first and largest SSIP schemes in the supply chain compliance space to receive its UKAS accreditation. As a leader in contractor prequalification, Alcumus is committed to abiding by the best practices we are helping other businesses to employ every day.

What is SafeContractor?

SafeContractor is an accreditation scheme which recognises an organisation’s capabilities for health and safety – all in one place.

Founded in 1999, SafeContractor have over 20-years’ experience in health and safety and were a founding member of ‘Safety Schemes in Procurement’ (SSIP). SSIP’s aim is to reduce the bureaucracy required from suppliers to complete certification applications, and to reduce the effort associated with pre-qualification. This saves contractors and clients time and money, whilst supporting them in demonstrating high levels of health and safety management.

There is also the SafeContractor PQQ, which is fully PAS91 compliant. PAS91 is a standard set of questions buyers may use to assess a businesses capability on topics such as financials, quality, equality & diversity, environmental, data protection, references, anti-bribery & corruption, building information modelling, and modern slavery. This requires additional documentation to prove compliance in these areas, and further proves high levels of organisation excellence.

Ultimately, it’s an all-encompassing high-standard accreditation, making future applications and pre-qualifications more efficient.

How does SafeContractor benefit our clients?

Of course, all of the above sounds great for an organisation awarded by SafeContractor. But what does it mean to clients, contractors and other who work with us?

  • It gives the reassurance we’re compliant with health and safety to a set level of standards.
  • As it is recognised by SSIP and service providers, it reduces the need for completing multiple pre-qualification assessments, saving time, money and stress.
  • Easier and more efficient onboarding.
  • If you are also Safe Contractor accredited, they will be notified we now work to the same standards and have opportunity to discover us from a director.
